In November last year, the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit received a tip that Rafael Veras-Molina, 28, of Orlando, who temporarily lived in Danbury, was selling crack-cocaine and heroin in Putnam.

At least twice, members of the department made contact with Veras-Molina to purchase drugs. In May, Veras-Molina returned to Florida and an arrest warrant was issued from the Town of Southeast Justice Court.

On Tuesday, July 16, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by law enforcement in Florida who had arrested Veras-Molina after he attempted a firearms transaction in Orlando. At the time of his arrest, his status as a wanted man was discovered.

Veras-Molina was transported back to Putnam County on Tuesday, Aug. 6 by members of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit, where he was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Following his arraignment in the Town of Southeast Justice Court, Veras-Molina was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
